Away from the routine of work and its pressures is a good time to consider whether being your own boss, using a skill or hobby interest you already have would make a viable business proposition, but how do you tell if it’s possible and realistic?
In Norwich and North Walsham there is free, informative Start Right workshops suitable for both pre-starters and businesses under 12 months old. The three, four-hour sessions are run by fun, experienced trainers and provide constructive advice and information including help with business plans, legal structures, marketing (both traditional and online) book keeping and how to keep the tax office happy. The Start Right programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is available for a limited period.
Jo Garden, one of the Start Right trainers said, “We know people who take advice prior to starting a business are more likely to be successful should they decide to start a business than if they go it alone. The feedback we’ve received has been great, we know the workshops make a huge difference providing delegates with both information and confidence.”
Amy Johnson from Suffolk commented, “I’ve found it incredibly useful attending the Start Right workshops, it has already helped my business. Also, it has given me the opportunity to meet lots of amazing people starting a business who are in the same boat.”
Business owner, Helen Armstrong-Bland has started Farm View Studios, “The practical, informative advice from professionals has been invaluable in setting good practice in place from the beginning. Great stuff!”
The Start Right programme continues throughout the summer and autumn, workshops are available in Norwich and North Walsham. They are free to attend.
